Introduction
Mashhad International Airport (MHD), also known as Shahid Hashemi Nejad International Airport, serves Mashhad, Iran's second-largest city and the holiest city in Iran. Located 10 km south of the city center, it's one of Iran's busiest airports due to religious pilgrimage traffic.
