Thai AirAsia is Thailand's leading low-cost carrier and a joint venture between Malaysia-based AirAsia and Thailand's Asia Aviation PCL. Founded in 2003, the airline has grown to become the dominant budget carrier in Thailand, operating over 60 aircraft on domestic and short-haul international routes throughout Southeast Asia.

Headquartered in Bangkok with its main hub at Don Mueang International Airport (DMK), Thai AirAsia operates as part of the broader AirAsia Group network with carrier code FD. Strict Enforcement: Thai AirAsia actively weighs and measures cabin bags at check-in counters and boarding gates. If your bags exceed limits, you will be charged a gate baggage fee to check the bag. This fee is significantly higher than pre-booking.

Xtra Carry-On Upgrade: For THB 350+ (~$10), upgrade to 14kg total cabin allowance. Each individual bag can weigh up to 10kg, but combined weight cannot exceed 14kg. Book online for the best price.
