Introduction
Guadalajara International Airport "Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla" (GDL) serves Guadalajara, Mexico's second-largest city and the capital of Jalisco state—birthplace of tequila, mariachi music, and much of what the world considers "Mexican" culture. Located 16 km south of the city center.
The airport has two terminals:
- Terminal 1 (T1): Domestic flights and some international
- Terminal 2 (T2): Primarily international flights
Terminals are connected by a walkway (10-minute walk or shuttle).

Getting In and Out
GDL is south of the city:
- To Centro Histórico: 16 km, 25-40 minutes
- To Zona Chapultepec: 14 km, 20-35 minutes
- To Tlaquepaque: 8 km, 15-20 minutes
- To Zapopan: 20 km, 30-45 minutes
Traffic can be heavy during rush hours.
