About

Tunisair is the flag carrier of Tunisia and one of Africa's oldest airlines, founded on October 21, 1948. Originally established as Societe Tunisienne de l'Air through a partnership between the Tunisian government and Air France, the airline has served as Tunisia's gateway to the world for over 75 years. Headquartered near Tunis-Carthage International Airport, Tunisair remains majority state-owned (approximately 65% by the Tunisian government).

The airline operates scheduled international services across four continents, with a strong focus on connecting Tunisia to Europe (particularly France, given the large Tunisian diaspora), the Middle East, and West Africa. Tunisair is not a member of any major airline alliance but maintains codeshare agreements with several carriers. The airline operates a mixed Airbus and Boeing fleet, including A320neo, A330-200, and Boeing 737 aircraft.

Tunisair has maintained an excellent safety record, with no fatal accidents since its founding in 1948.
