Horizon Air is a regional airline operating as a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group, the parent company of Alaska Airlines. Founded in 1981 in Seattle, Washington, Horizon Air was acquired by Alaska Air Group in 1986 and has operated as part of the Alaska Airlines family ever since.

Important: Horizon Air does not sell tickets directly to passengers. All Horizon-operated flights are marketed and sold as Alaska Airlines flights. When you book a flight operated by Horizon Air, you purchase your ticket through Alaska Airlines. The flight will appear as an Alaska Airlines flight number, even though the aircraft and crew belong to Horizon Air.

Horizon Air serves as the regional arm of Alaska Airlines, focusing on shorter routes throughout the Pacific Northwest, California, and the intermountain West.
