About

Uzbekistan Airways is the flag carrier and national airline of Uzbekistan, headquartered in Tashkent. Founded in 1992 following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the airline inherited the Uzbek division of Aeroflot and has since developed into Central Asia's largest carrier by fleet size and passenger numbers.

The airline operates from its hub at Tashkent Islam Karimov International Airport (TAS), connecting Uzbekistan to destinations across the CIS countries, Europe, Asia, and North America. Uzbekistan Airways is notable for being one of few Central Asian carriers with direct service to the United States, operating flights to New York JFK.

The airline's branding draws heavily on Uzbekistan's Silk Road heritage, reflecting the country's historic role as a crossroads of civilizations. Uzbekistan Airways is not a member of any global airline alliance but maintains codeshare partnerships with several carriers.
