About
Condor is a German leisure airline headquartered in Neu-Isenburg near Frankfurt, operating primarily from Frankfurt Airport (FRA). Founded in 1955 as Deutsche Flugdienst, Condor has become one of Europe's leading holiday carriers, connecting Germany to popular vacation destinations worldwide.
The airline was formerly part of the Thomas Cook Group until its collapse in 2019, after which Condor was rescued through German government support and subsequently acquired by the investment firm Attestor in 2021. Under new ownership, Condor has undergone a significant transformation, including a bold rebranding in 2022 featuring distinctive striped livery in five vibrant colors (yellow, blue, orange, green, and red), making it one of the most recognizable fleets in European aviation.
Condor operates as a hybrid leisure carrier—not a low-cost airline but positioned between traditional legacy carriers and budget airlines. The airline is not a member of any major alliance but partners with various airlines for codeshares and connections. Condor's fleet renewal program has introduced modern Airbus A330neo and A320neo family aircraft, significantly improving passenger comfort and environmental efficiency.
