Switzerland

Schengen area - ETIAS coming for visa-exempt nationals

Overview

Switzerland is a compact Alpine nation in the heart of Europe, renowned for its mountains, banking sector, and exceptional quality of life. Despite its small size, the country is a significant aviation market thanks to its role as a business hub and world-class tourism destination.

Zurich Airport (ZRH) is the primary international gateway and main hub for Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS), a Lufthansa Group carrier and Star Alliance member. Geneva Airport (GVA) serves as the secondary international gateway with strong connections to France and a major easyJet presence.

Switzerland is part of the Schengen Area but is not an EU member, meaning it uses the Swiss Franc rather than the Euro. The country's exceptional rail network makes it easy to reach mountain resorts and cities from its airports.
