Naha International Airport

Naha Airport (OKA) serves Okinawa, Japan's subtropical island paradise in the Ryukyu archipelago. Located 4 km from Naha city center, it's the gateway to Japan's beach destination and the country's southernmost major airport.

The airport has domestic and international terminals in a single connected building. The Tokyo-Naha route is one of Japan's busiest domestic corridors.

Key airlines: Japan Airlines, ANA, JTA (Japan Transocean Air), Peach, Jetstar Japan, and various Asian carriers.

OKA is conveniently close to Naha:

• To Naha city center (Kokusai Street): 6 km, 15-20 minutes
• To Shuri Castle: 8 km, 20-30 minutes
• To American Village (Chatan): 20 km, 30-45 minutes
• To Onna/resort area: 45 km, 60-75 minutes
• To Nago (north): 70 km, 90 minutes

Uber does not operate in Okinawa. Use taxis or rental cars.

Yui Rail (Monorail)

Yui Rail connects the airport to Naha city:

• To Shuri: 27 minutes, ¥340
• Frequency: Every 6-10 minutes
• Hours: 06:00-23:30

The monorail is convenient for Naha city but doesn't reach northern resorts.

Airport Limousine Bus

Limousine buses connect to resort areas:

• Route A: Airport → Onna resorts → Nago (2-2.5 hours, ¥1,600-2,000)
• Route B: Airport → American Village → Kadena
• Various routes to different resort destinations

Book or check schedules at the bus counter.

Rental Car (Essential)

Rent a car to explore Okinawa—most attractions require driving. Rental agencies have shuttles from the airport to nearby lots.
