About
European Air Transport (EAT), also known as DHL Air, is DHL Aviation's European cargo airline and a key component of Deutsche Post DHL Group's global express delivery network. Headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, EAT operates an extensive network of scheduled cargo flights connecting DHL's European hub at Leipzig/Halle Airport with destinations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Founded in 1971 as a Belgian cargo airline, EAT was acquired by DHL in 1985 and has since become the primary operator for DHL Express's intra-European air freight operations. The airline operates under two Air Operator Certificates (AOCs): the Belgian certificate for European Air Transport Leipzig GmbH (based at Leipzig) and European Air Transport N.V. (based at Brussels).
EAT plays a critical role in DHL's "Network of the Future" strategy, operating a modern fleet of freighter aircraft that ensures next-day and time-definite delivery across the European continent and beyond.
