Sweden

Schengen area - visa-free for EU/EEA citizens

Overview

Sweden is the largest Nordic country, stretching 1,572 kilometers from its southern tip to the Arctic Circle. Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) serves as the main international gateway and hub for Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), while Gothenburg Landvetter (GOT) provides access to Sweden's second-largest city and the west coast.

With over 40 airports serving its long, narrow geography, domestic air travel is essential for reaching northern destinations efficiently. The country offers a mix of full-service carriers (SAS), low-cost options (Norwegian, Ryanair), and regional airlines connecting smaller cities.

Sweden is known for its efficient infrastructure, stunning natural beauty, and being one of the world's most cashless societies. Credit and debit cards are accepted virtually everywhere, and many places no longer accept cash.
