About

Qantas (Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services) is Australia's flag carrier and the world's oldest continuously operating airline, founded on 16 November 1920 in Winton, Queensland. Headquartered in Sydney at Mascot, adjacent to Sydney Airport, Qantas carries over 50 million passengers annually and holds approximately 60% of the Australian domestic market.

As a founding member of the Oneworld alliance, Qantas offers seamless connectivity to over 1,000 destinations through partners including American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, and Japan Airlines. The airline is nicknamed "The Flying Kangaroo" after its iconic kangaroo logo, which first appeared in 1944.

Qantas holds an exceptional safety record. The airline has not had a fatal accident since 1951 and has never lost a jet aircraft. Qantas has been named the world's safest airline by AirlineRatings.com multiple times, consistently ranking among the top 3 globally.

Fleet: Qantas operates a modern fleet including Airbus A380s, Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, Airbus A330s, Boeing 737s, and Airbus A320s. The airline has ordered 12 Airbus A350-1000ULR aircraft for Project Sunrise ultra-long-haul routes launching in 2027.
